When did you open Alam Kita and what inspired you to do so?
I bought the land in 2017, from then we started building and we first opened in April 2019.
What do you love most about Alam Kita?
Alam Kita is all about LOVE…. 😊 The way it is built, the strong loving energy in this place. It is difficult NOT to love Alam Kita.
What has been the most rewarding part of opening Alam Kita?
To make the people happy who are coming here! They can leave everything behind. So beautiful to watch and see!
What has been your biggest challenge and how have you overcome this?
My biggest challenge working in Indonesia is to be patient… They call it ‘sabar’ over here. Actually, this is one of my life lessons I learnt in Indonesia.
Tell us about your team!
I think my team is the most dedicated team in the world! I am so proud of them. They are committed 200%, they also spread the love of Alam Kita to our guests, actually they are like family to me…
How has Tab helped Alam Kita?
Because I am located on a very small island, it was difficult to get this credit card machine from the ordinary bank in here… so I was so happy to find out about Tab so the people can pay with their credit cards at last…! Before they had to pay in cash or later with a bank transfer. And this way it’s clear from the beginning.
What is your favourite feature that Tab offers? Why?
At the moment it is the Gift Card opportunity. Because of the crisis already it has been almost 1 month with no guests and a lot of cancelations. I just put out a campaign with the Tab Gift Cards and I really hope this will be successful to survive this difficult time.
Why would you recommend Tab to another business?
Tab is easy, quick and simple. That’s basically it!
Why is Karimunjawa a great place to visit?
Karimunjawa is a great authentic island to relax, find yourself and come to rest. Of course Alam Kita will help you with this with doing yoga, meditation and using the SUP. People here are amazing. One example? Just leave your scooter with groceries with the key where ever you leave it… it will NOT be stolen!
What would your advice be for anyone thinking about starting their own tourism business?
Think about the concept first. What makes you different (added value) from your neighbor. So mission and vision is very important. Second is you should have passion for people in general. Actually you should LOVE people…
How has your business been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic?
This has had a huge impact on Alam Kita. We just opened and we only have cancelations in the coming high season. Already up to August! So I am a little bit worried. On the other hand I am full of trust that we will get a better world after this with love, trust and compassion….
