When did you open Cabinas Tortuguero and what inspired you to do so?
Cabinas Tortuguero was one of the first accommodations in the village of Tortuguero. I bought this place in 2015. It has a huge charm, it is in the center of the village and has a big tropical garden.
What do you love most about Cabinas Tortuguero?
The tropical garden and the peaceful vibe and our colorful buildings.
What has been the most rewarding part of opening Cabinas Tortuguero?
To be a warm host and to meet great people from different countries.
What has been your biggest challenge and how have you overcome this?
The Costa Rican bureaucracy!!! And to find good construction workers.
At the end, I learned how to overcome.
Tell us about your team!
The team consists of Yeicy our cleaner, Jossette our receptionist, and me. We are a well established team and we want our guests to have a wonderful stay. I love our teamwork and I am grateful to have such wonderful and competent people on my side.
How has Tab helped Cabinas Tortuguero?
As Tortuguero is a small spit of land, and it is just reachable by boat or small plane, we do not have an ATM or a Bank. Most of our guests pay by card and this is really easy with the Tab app.
What is your favorite feature that Tab offers? Why?
Charging credit cards.
Why would you recommend Tab to another business?
Because it is really easy to use.
Why is Costa Rica great place to visit?
Costa Rica has an impressive wildlife and wonderful nature. The local people named "ticos" are open-minded and friendly.
What is your advice for someone looking to start their own tourism business?
Follow your heart. If it feels good, then you should do it. We only live once.
