Tell us about your team (how you built the team and what you love most)!

We are a small team at Geckoes Lodge. It is my husband and I, a handyman/gardener and 2 housekeepers. We all do a bit of everything. It has been quite a journey to find the right people, but we're very happy with the small team we have now.

What makes your business different?

We are a small business, meaning we try to connect with our guests and deliver a personal service. We help them pick the best tours and places to fit their needs and interests. At the same time, we try to give back to the community here.

What has been the most rewarding part of opening your business?

Being able to make a difference in the lives of both our guests and our staff.

What has been your biggest challenge and how have you overcome this?

Dealing with the small, everyday problems in a way that is very different to what we were used to. Living on the verge of the rainforest means life goes at a very different pace.
